The Day of Facial Implant Surgery

Facial implant surgery is performed under general anesthesia in an outpatient setting and typically lasts between 1-2 hours.

The cheek, jaw and chin implant surgeries require similar surgical techniques, beginning with a small initial incision placed close to where the implant will be inserted, followed by the creation of a pocket within the facial tissue. Once the pocket has been created, Dr. Elie will insert the implant, position it appropriately and then close the incision with stitches. Recovery Period?

Dr. Elie will give you specific instructions of how to care for yourself. Your stitches which can be removed one to two weeks later; you are not advised to carry heavy things. The initial healing phase may include localized swelling. Facial movement may be temporary restricted.
